Post: Associate Scientist/Senior Scientist

Qualifications: PhD (Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology) candidates with two or more years of relevant post doctoral experience.

Scope of work: The selected candidate will be expected to work on microalgae isolation, identification and lipid profiling of micro-algae for bio-diesel production, toxicity testing on human/animal cell lines, chemical and biological process development for de-toxification of Jatropha de-oiled cake, fermentation of sugars generated from lingo-cellulosic wastes and mutagenesis of cellulase producing fungal strains.

Requirements: The interested candidates should be willing to work across the board on various on-going projects in the division. The technologies developed are further taken up for pilot plant study leading to commercialization. Thus a person with multi-disciplinary interests will be preferred. The candidate will be expected to conceive and write projects to be submitted to various funding agencies. The selected candidate may also guide Masters and PhD Scholars.

Compensation: Rs. 3 to 6 lakhs per annum
